I always thought that was popular opinion no joke. AU Gul’dan was one of the few things I loved about WOD
Unpopular Opinion: AU Gul'dan was better than MU Gul'dan. Sure MU Gul'dan caused a lot of pain for the orcs but it was AU Gul'dan who caused more trouble in the current day. Plus he recognized his MU's failures.

I'd only say it's unpopular because people had a hissy fit regarding Warlords of Draenor in general but I can't say I blamed them.

Right? I ultimately see Gul'dan AU as the real way MU Gul'dan would look. I'm hoping that in Reforged they honestly go with his look instead.

Au Gul'dan got more love cuz he wasn't just in a few novels and brief moments in the rts games. He was based on a previously existing character and got a (small) expansions worth of development that Continued into half of a much better expac. Also we actually got to fight him lol
