I haven't checked if Alliance side goes through the same craziness as Horde lol
Holy balls is 9.0 going to make things even more confusing for Horde leveling. Garrosh is still alive but also dead. Nazgrim is still alive but also dead (actually true), Vol'jin is dead but also alive but also a ghost, Sylvanas is something. Buckle up for a confusing ride.

Honestly I want her to be a boss after what she did to Durotan but we'll have to see. It'd be good for the Alliance to have a morally grey character too.

Death Knight, report to Sylvanas to join the Horde, then go to Outland where they'll talk about Thrall, then Northrend where you'll meet Garrosh just in time for him to tell you what to do for a while until WoD where a random troll will compliment your garrison before Sylvanas is
