Magni is already working along both the Alliance and the Horde but yeah I don't think characters like Tyrande or the Night Elves will ever let Teldrassil down.

Having champions work with him to stop Azerite is not the same thing as him demanding the faction war stop. Sylvanas already has shown she's not interested. And she's the leader.

But what if there are characters who agree with Magni & the Alliance that they need to put their differences aside to deal with Queen Azshara? It'd also be a good way to stick it to Sylvanas & a step in the right direction. Though Sylvanas is picking off those who would 1 by 1.

You can't just repeat the same story beat without the lead up and then pretend that it should have the same narrative or emotional impact.

8.1.5 has plenty of hints and acknowledgements that something will occur or be done. I agree we need that build up which is where 8.2 or 8.2.5 comes in. Since we don't really know what the final patch is I would assume they would do something more in the middle.

No actual actions though. Again, unlike 5.1. Having Lilian Voss go, "Oh dang I hate Sylvanas" again doesn't mean anything anymore.

But it can lead to something though with that hate in mind. There's at least implications they'll do something they just need to act on it.

Okay so can literally anybody saying literally anything. Varian said we'd retake Gilneas after MoP and then we had alternate universe fun times.
