#Warcraft Hot take:
Mists of Pandaria deconstructed the faction war & showed why a faction war storyline is stupid.
It was then proceeded by Legion (with a faction war zone) and BfA, which was entirely about a faction war.
Its like they forgot their own point they made in MoP
I enjoyed mostly just the Forsaken vs Worgen bits, granted that was also around the time I didn't like Genn that much. Now adays not much of a fan of Sylvanas anymore with what she's done with the Horde. I just remember after Legion I really wanted a faction conflict.

But now I am hoping for a "settle" or an end to the conflict after Battle for Azeroth. I do think this will be the end of the faction war being a major focus for the story. Honestly looking back on it I really enjoy moments like the Wrathgate or Durotan and Yrel vs Blackhand.

Honestly, Stormheim to me felt more like a Sylvanas vs. Genn conflict instead of a Horde vs. Alliance one. Which was a reason I disliked it, I wanted them to prove to me that Sylvanas would be a good, or at least the right warchief at the time, not have her do her usual stuff.

I expected her to do exactly as she did. I was apparently just naive enough back then to expect other c haracters to actually care she nearly alienated an incredibly powerful ally against an apocalypse threat outside of them making a comment an expansion after the fact.

Turns out Genn was also right to do what he did. Otherwise Sylvanas, having formed a pact with THE VILLAIN ORCHESTRATING THE ENTIRE ZONE'S B SUBPLOT, would have captured Eyir. Probably making Odin become an enemy to all of us as well.
