His quest suggests he might be on that path and he is awfully glowy these days...(this is just a personal pet theory though)
It would be odd for a Shadow Hunter for exhibit light. But given his whole golden appearance he's got going on its always possible. I wouldn't mind if we get more story on who saved Vol'jin.

That and Bwansamdi clearly wasn't the one who snatched his soul. Vol'jin's avatar looks a lot like Rezan and the other loa (though that could totally be unrelated) which is interesting. He also seems...fuzzy, and unwilling to share much if anything about how his spirit was freed.

During the fight with Zalazain he does say: "What? Vol'jin… You could not have grown so strong without becoming... a..."

However if he was in the Shadowlands and gets pulled back by some benevolent force (My theory is Azeroth protecting itself by creating more agents to stop the abuse of Azerite), could pretty easily just have him flip and become the opposite of Shadow, ie: Light.
