Varian got a new model for the broken shore. #justsayin They could let Mayla claim Thunder Bluff, although I'd rather see everyone migrate to Highmountain because its so much nicer. (Although Mulgore itself is great.) Warchief seems like Saurfang's title to reject.

Varian's "new model" was specifically for the Broken Shore. It was just him without his cloak and shoulders it was nothing special and it was just for that event alone. Baine just got his new model at the end of Legion. So did Saurfang and Nathanos.

I imagine there will be an alliance rescue mission. Jaina talks about feel bad about his imprisonment and how he has helped her and Baine is close with Andiun. Him and Saurfang will probably be teaming up now that both of them are traitors to the Horde.

I imagine Baine's defiance will ripple throughout the Horde. Saurfang already is going to Thrall I assume and several members of the Horde would follow Thrall to defy Sylvanas the examples are endless.

I haven't read into the spoilers yet from lack of time. Is saurfang ruled out of this equation?

Saurfang isn't shown much yet in 8.1.5 but i've really believed Saurfang was going to be Warchief. He's far too old and it seems like they're readying him to die. I personally think they're setting Thrall back into the role.

Looking at the broadcast text it says that’s it’s Zelling who lets Derek go free. Where does Baine figure into this?

Baine is the one to deliver Derek to Jaina in Theramore.

I quite like Baine and I hope he endures. All this hatred towards his character is a blemish in the community.
