One thing I really like about FF14 is that they never remove stuff, there are holiday events and such but stuff like pre-expansion story or events are all in the game. I really wish WoW did that as well.
I'm not into FF14 but I would dig it if they brought back the Battle for Undercity Scenario.

I never understood why it was removed in the first place, it doesn't seem to make much sense.

My guess is it is because it takes place in Old Orgrimmar when Thrall was Warchief so they didn't wanna deal with that. Despite them keeping Garrosh around for MoP cinematics and such. Blizzard does this with several characters who're dead in fact.
