Good point, there certainly IS tech that can replicate the reported phenomena. Also memory "manipulation" as per 2012 Harvard McNally paper. The historical reports from the area is what stears me away from secret tech as a significant cause.
As I said, it is only a small part, of a much larger more complex collection of esoteric participants :)
