I can personally attest to having both extremely negative and also positive after-effects from the hitchhiker phenomena. It is almost as it "It" is testing you, and how you react determines the outcome... This has happened to me 2-3 times now.

What were the positive effects?

almost the complete opposite, a multiplier of 2 times the threat you were facing. It always starts out as loss... financial, relationships, health, emotional, but the positive side is (if you pass) unforeseen, unpredictable blessings/rewards will suddenly appear in your life.

Believe it or not, that makes total sense. I mean, isn’t that the key to happiness in general? It has been for me anyway. It’s a huge hurdle to find joy in this chaotic life. The ranch seems like a place that concentrates that lesson.
