Probably it’s any system that adjusts to “feedback” in just the right way. DNA just throws out a variety of variations, then nature kills the ones that don’t survive in the environment as well, keeping the more effective copies. And people who can solve problems better survive
I am too simple for deep thoughts but...is DNA the *only substance that actually improves itself despite the never ending entropy caused the one directional arrow of time? Seems like only collectives add order to the infinite matrix.

After more digging, a useful google search phrase is “negative entropy”. Often this involves heat movement or making molecules.
