Totally have this as well. My PhD supervisor had a peculiar way of writing comments, and I have totally and unconsciously adopted it. It worked well for me, hopefully the students I co-supervise find it as useful as I did.

Fenn, my nearly 4 year old daughter, recorded her first ever solo song today. She came up with all the words herself and I helped her a little bit with the tune. It’s called ‘Dinosaurs in Love’. 🦕❤️🦕

One of my grad students, David Černý, has written a nice summary of how to make publication quality figures of tip-dated trees, based on his current research project. Check it out here:

So my lack of having been invited to give any talk is either (1) no friends; or (2) no friends with money; or (3) I don't travel enough.

Everyone's favorite boomerang-head: Diplocaulus magnicornis from the early Permian of Texas. This is one of the larger known skulls, a decent growth series is known for this species.

Technically not in time for , but who in academia is ever on time... technically also not a museum, but I have some fossils from the BSPG on loan, so my office will hopefully do to join the club! Plus we have a museum two floors down in the building :) 🐢

It might not be a traditional but this picture of Hintze Hall uses digital specimens in place of pixels, so if the Museum could take a photo of itself, we think this would be it!

In this new review paper with my pal Lucas Legendre, we argue that endothermy in vertebrates is more widespread than we often think, including in non-tetrapods! Open access version here:
