Youtubers keep pointing this out and I've never seen them give an actual statement as to why? surely they should claim the clip and then youtube should then calculate how much revenue is provided to them from those couple of seconds and not the entire thing?

so for example let's say a video got claimed and had other content which could be claimed, does the owner of that property get to claim it as well? and if both claims are valid how is the revenue fairly provided?

The only logical response I thought of (if you can even call it that) is a first come first serve basis, where whoever claims it first get's the pot of gold It's sick how
