Very pleased to be invited to the launch of the Depression and Anxiety Guide by Clinical Effectiveness Southwark. Practical resource, easy to use and well written. Not just about drugs. Of huge value to many, not just in primary care.

We also know that antipsychotics don't TREAT delirium - no reduction in length of delirium or mortality. Yet still this strategy persists in many acute hospitals. We need to reword our guidelines

The description of patients with delirium as 'pleasantly confused' must stop - we would never describe people as 'pleasantly breathless'. Delirium is brain cell death and a serious, emergency condition

Fantastic talk from Vish Goel and Steve Storey flying the flag for liaison pharmacy. Huge benefits for patients and teams but still so few of us out there. Very difficult to get hard data which results in such undervaluing of the expertise and potential

Also stopped myself from shouting after him "Ned! Do you think Alaphilipe could have won if he'd had a team like Ineos to support him?" "Ned! Was Luke Rowe's expulsion justified?" "Ned! How do you tell the difference between the riders so quickly?" "Ned!"

Looking forward to Tuesday’s ‘managing medical conditions in patients with serious mental illness’ day. A taster of cases we'll be discussing: ‘My patient’s neutrophil count is 0.3 x 10ˆ9/L. What do I do? ‘My patient’s creatinine is 222umol/L. What do I do?’ 🤔
