  4. Happy May 17 when in England we can eat inside as long as it’s in the fresh air, hug others but not if we really care about them, be taught again in University the day after term teaching ends and fly to a bunch of countries who won’t let us in when we get there.

"My" shadow cabinet? This is such an odd tweet, or am I missing something?

Watching Matt Hancock on insisting that the Government are always taking the most cautious approach then immediately contradicting himself by saying because they don’t have enough evidence on the danger of the Indian variant yet, the roadmap remains the same.

So in short the Indian variant might mean we don't return to normal for a much longer time. And the Indian variant is here because of Brexit and Boris Johnson's determination to make an eye catching trade deal with India. Well done everyone. Great job.

Might as well rip up the ministerial code at this point as it obviously doesn’t apply to Priti Patel or other Tory ministers.

Question we have to keep coming back to is why, when our vaccination programme is going well, the government did not decide to enforce tighter border control to prevent new variants from arriving. India was added to the red list weeks after cases were spiking there.

Dame Helen Ghosh was a fabulous role model when I worked in Whitehall. I was delighted to talk to her about leadership during her time in Government, The National Trust and Higher Education. A great mix of fun and wisdom in this episode

I repeat, if you don’t support ID cards in general, you can’t possibly support voter ID. Unless, of course, you do support voter suppression.

Good to see raising the potential of a - the maths are clear that if Lib Dems, Greens and Labour worked together they could beat the Tories. Disappointing to see Lisa Nandy being so dismissive of the idea.
