    I spent a LOT of time making my website, mostly because I couldn't decide on what JS libraries to use. Once I decided to use Eleventy, the dev process sped up drastically. It's so fast to create websites using static generators!!!!

    Today I learned that the `content` CSS property allows to define alternative text. 😲 🔗 CSS "content" accepts alternative text (browser support is not great yet though 😢)

    CSS code:

.new-item::before {
  /* "black star" and element content is read out */
  content: "★";

  /* "Highlighted item" and element content is read out */
  content: "★" / "Highlighted item";

  /* Generated content is ignored and only element content is read out */
  content: "★" / "";
}

    🔥 TIL a trick to handle that annoying mobile viewport bug with `100vh` in WebKit (iOS Safari)!

    CSS snippet using "min-height: -webkit-fill-available" as bug fix to "min-height: 100vh" on mobile.

    CSS is so daunting to me and I’m tired of sucking at it. What do you recommend for a seasoned developer that wants to spend a couple months and get good at CSS?

    that a horizontal rule (<hr>) is announced by screen readers (announced "horizontal splitter" in VoiceOver), so unless it is a _semantic_ thematic break between paragraphs of content (i.e. not just visual decoration), u’ll want to hide it using `aria-hidden = "true"`
