twitch staff have said a number of times that their main goal is to have as many streamers making a living wage as possible & I believe them
I don't think they did this maliciously. But it is a result of decisions made.

Gotta say, I completely disagree that this is a bad thing. Side effect, yes. But not a terrible awful thing.

It's a great tool and stepping stone for many. It will greatly benefit some people, yes. And I'm happy for those who do.
