Personally I think that's a bad idea. If you were to punish them (which I also disagree with) you definitely shouldn't give them the same punishment. If a dude commits murder and you do nothing about it you wouldnt get the same punishment as the murderer.

Also accessories to crimes do get punished so even then it's an awful analogy

What if you arent their friend? People who see a crime and dont report it arent legally held responsible for that crime. Also you didnt even touch on the actual argument

You didn't argue anything, just disagreed which is fine. The context is when vote kicks are called and a friend protects their queued together hacking friend by voting no. I think those found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in the overwatch case should also be punished.

Ok so in that context the person should be punished, but I dont think they should be punished as harshly as the person doing the cheating.

Is this a comp match? If so yes that's acceptable if not that's too harsh

I had competitive in mind but I don't see why cheating should be tolerated in any game mode. Here's some more info on how the overwatch system works: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7562-ipjn-1009 …

I'm not saying it should be tolerated, but 6 weeks for non comp is way too long
