Oh boy Twitter got me fired up with the whole Gif pronunciation thing lmao. If you choose to say it like gif(t) and call the inventor wrong, please explain why, because I just don’t understand.
The guy who invented GIF didn't invent the English language. I could invent the florpasupgagpggle (pronounced flowers) and that doesn't mean you should honor my pronunciation.

There’s no basis in the English language for florpasupgagpggle to be pronounced flowers though. Gif pronounced jif is just a slight deviation from the norm, and we accept way worse shit than that all the time in English.
