So many cool shows concepts with English not being the spoken language so I can't really watch them while multitasking. Kind of a bummer. Good amount of them have dubbed English at least but it's hard to feel immersed when their words don't match their lips.

I feel like if you are focused enough to notice the non matching lips, you probably aren't multi tasking. Or you are a MUCH better multitasker then I am.

I used to play RuneScape while streaming speedruns AND watched most of lost while streaming 120 star runs back in the day and no one even knew.

Yeah it sucks, I gotta specifically dedicate time to watching shows like that if I want to. So many cool shows I haven’t seen because of that reason too. I’m sure I’ll get around to seeing them eventually though.

feel you about the immersion part. its so funny when here in germany (where EVERYTHING is dubbed) people say stuff like "oh, [person from the anglosphere] is such a great actress," when all they've watched are dubs

granted, the dubs are pretty great, but voice actors don't really transport emotion the way actors do

Yeah. Lip desynch in dubs for foreign tv shows is incredibly bothersome. It definitely breaks immersion in the worst way.
