Surprised to learn about the speedrunfails issues from your tweets. GlitchPhD asked to use one of my clips in August. Sad to hear they didnt give everyone the same courtesy, was it laziness? I gave them a few clips as I was flattered to be included and it was nice to get noticed.
Laziness and I think probably has a lot to do with producing the videos and asking while or after - if people didn't respond they just used em anyway. And forgetting to ask some people entirely.
Honestly I have never really understood the appeal of compilations of highlights from dozens of speedgames. Often without knowing the game/run you can't know what's happening and the massive inconsistency in layout and quality is jarring.
Plus, the person editing the video isn't always knowledge of the runs. Glitch cut off and focused on the wrong part of my clip once, didn't know better. It's like the polar opposite to watching concise well edited highlights from a single stream like the ones of your channel.
There is clearly a demand for the compilations though so hopefully the next person to meet the demand takes more time with asking people for permission.
