Was talking with @Keizaron last night about networking in the world of streaming last night and he put it very well.
Dont try to network by just trying to get someone to follow you. Try to make friends and acquaintances. Its better in the long run.

There was someone on the last day while my group was trying to eat who kept shouting that we should sub to his stream. Like BOI that's not how shit works ever lmao. Also he was an affiliate

Sad part was I didnt hear that guy talking much about that stuff from my position on the table so I thought he was playing along with us, so I brofisted him as a fellow affiliate kinda just as a joke, and he just immediately gave me his business card, no questions asked -_-

A partner friend had an affiliate sucking up to him in the bathroom and after he washed his hands the affiliate handed him a paper towel with a business card on it. I think that was the peak Twitchcon networking attempt.

This is the most South Korean thing I have ever read.

From my experience when I used to have a sales job, business cards only got used by people who were already a client, otherwise straight trash. I imagine it's the same there where the only cards you dont throw away are from people you'll actually play on stream with.

In work Ive had a few people give business cards when they were serving a specific function. Like a chiropractor I met once gave one out after I complained of some soreness. Was a teensy bit pushy but I mean it makes a lot more sense to me there for a job.
