I personally have issues with Guidelines. So, if it was wrong, I'd be wrong too. It's not about what's wrong or not. It's about the perception you give. Which created a stigma. If someone outside of the community tells you that Puyo will never be as esport-material as MOBAs or -

/ FGs, you'd disagree, but you'd never convince that guy that Puyo has incredible depth. Now, there's this: - Guideline has an accuracy-based meta. No place for mindgames. - Direct multiplayer doesn't work at all with Tetris. - Puyo is the only competitive puzzle game alive. ...

... - High-level Tetris is boring and unwatchable. - You can't fix GL. - You can't fix PvT. All of that are arguments that Puyo players made on PPT. I can find beats and pieces of it in S2's podcast, made after AnimEVO 2017. I strongly disagree, but I'll never convince you.

"But those are opinions. Anybody can have those." Yeah, but it directly contradicts the thoughts of some High-Level GL players about GL. When you get that intense, you grow a passion out of your game. And when it gets criticized, you might take it personally. That's normal. -

- The real danger, and I saw it personally, is when Puyo players describe Tetris players through the affirmations upthere that they claim true. And thus, I got described as a "tier-whore", not willing to learn Puyo, 'cause it's "out of my comfort zone". That's kinda depressing. -

- You spent time to perfect your reflexes at Tetris, you smash the leaderboard, or in my case, I put money and effort to organize TvT events, 'cause I really think GL deserves it, PPT gets out and we're all happy, 'cause we could use the game to TO Tsu and GL very easily, -

- BUT, #SlightDisadvantage, GL sucks, "bring Chronicle on Switch, so that I can leave that degenerate game". It's not ALL the Puyo community's fault, but fuck me, you guys are not helping. I think that stigma hurts us both, that we could have made PPT a great game for both -

- instead of pushing Swap as a "tourney standard" (oh shit...) and not even considering TvT at AnimEVO. (ffs) I really try to not appear as a bitter dude that would like as much attention on Tetris than on Puyo, but I genuinely think that the problem is deeper than that.
