The only reason this BBC reporter is on this boat today is because the government is seeking a distraction from its domestic problems by stirring up anti-migrant feeling. The BBC is playing along with that

BBC reporter says they'll shadow the boat and see how it develops. We know how it'll develop. Boat lands, luxury coach to 4/5* accom, free food free housing and free money for life. We don't need the BBC's shoddy reporting, we need action from the Govt.
