How to pervert democracy Brexit-style: a) Hold a vote without defining what is being voted for; b) Define what it means after the event; c) Refuse to allow voters a chance to agree/disagree with your definition. Brexit is the real affront to democracy.

A Brexit puzzle... Over 17 million people voted to leave. Tons of Leavers on Twitter. And yet, in 2.5 years, not one of them has put together a simple, clear, logical thread on the benefits of leaving the EU. Something others could share widely, and win arguments with. Odd.

  3. A few months to go and the same faces continue to spread the same falsehoods unchallenged. Redwood says the "majority" of our trade is on WTO terms - in fact the vast majority is through EU deals. This should be called out not rewarded with interview slots & knighthoods.

An update on what has already happened as a result of Brexit. Should be compulsory reading for all MPs, and anyone who still thinks Leaving the EU is without cost.

This is worth retweeting again if only to show that Humphrys should have called redwood out for saying exactly the same thing in R4 this morning

And now there's really only one option for putting that right. And that's to have another vote so you don't have to put up with something you didn't vote for. So join us in demanding a and let's put this right ... for all of us. /end

And the exact same thing applies if you voted Leave but you don't want No Deal. It applies if you are having to put up with any version of Brexit you don't like. You were cheated. The referendum cheated you. It promised too many different things but nothing specific. /3

Because "what Brexit meant" was not nailed down in advance, you are now having to put up with something you didn't vote for. But that's not right. You shouldn't have to put up with something you didn't vote for. Nobody should. /2

If you voted Leave but now you don't like the Brexit (WA) deal that the government has put in front of you, you are accepting that the referendum was flawed. You are accepting that the referendum gave too much latitude for the result to be interpreted after the vote. /1

  13. Ken Clarke is right on . Parliament should revoke article 50 until we have way forward for the country. Time for Theresa May to stop playing Russian roulette with jobs & services on Brexit.

Remarkable, Humphrys talking continuously over Ken Clarke, just after news summary in which John Redwood gives clear, uninterrupted view that no-deal is nothing to worry about. really has lost all credibility.

Why would there be a "culprit"? You've been saying a no deal Brexit was your preferred option and would be no problem at all? If that were true, why the need to apportion blame rather give credit? Beyond a joke. When, oh when will people see through these Brexit charlatans?

It is just unfathomable to me that Iohn Humphreys is still on the air. He has done enormous reputational damage to and and UK cannot afford this at this stage in Brexit endgame

Watching the presenters grilling a leading academic who says Britain will be locked out of major research programmes and funding upon no deal, and repeatedly countering 'why aren't you more optimistic and confident' is painful, the lack of understanding staggering.
