Are there any known ways to systematically reprogram typical class attitudes (from lower to upper middle class for example)? Not superficial stuff like dress or speech or table manners. Stuff like financial habits, education plans, work ethics etc.

Interesting: most responses assume “upward” movement. Exposure to Socialism has the opposite effect, from upper class values to working class. It never quite rings true, however, and usually has a level of earnestness that’s inauthentic to the working man. E.g. Kim Philby.

2. Today the American embrace of petit bourgeois economic model of the American Dream often conflicts with other historical bourgeois values. Modesty, thrift, respect and community are being eroded by hyper-individualism piloted by the baby boomers.
