Are there any known ways to systematically reprogram typical class attitudes (from lower to upper middle class for example)? Not superficial stuff like dress or speech or table manners. Stuff like financial habits, education plans, work ethics etc.

Interesting: most responses assume “upward” movement. Exposure to Socialism has the opposite effect, from upper class values to working class. It never quite rings true, however, and usually has a level of earnestness that’s inauthentic to the working man. E.g. Kim Philby.

1. This is the idea behind “classless society” projects that assume that we reach equality when bourgeois values are abandoned. In America it’s usually reckoned that classlessness is achieved when petit bourgeois values are universal: aka “The American Dream”.
