It has always puzzled me why some in the DA justify their shortcomings by saying the ANC is worse. Surely they should try harder than that?

Whataboutism is their goto defence. The DA’s whole election campaign can be summed up in the phrase: “ vote for us, because just look how horrible the ANC is!” Nothing about what they have to offer.
