Coronavirus is about to prove one of the many weaknesses with America's federal system: no virus respects state boundaries. So having different patterns of lockdowns, restrictions and enforcement in each individual state is a recipe for utter catastrophe.

If you are not a united as a country. Just look at Germany, also a federal state, and yes some states went ahead but they pulling in the same direction. The germans however, are realising that these structures during a crises need to be reformed. The same counts for EU.
