And, shockingly, both MPs for Herefordshire nevertheless voted to keep No Deal as a possibility, knowingly to put us at risk of running out of insulin & other crucial medicines.

At a guess we have 100 totally insulin dependent patients. Terrifying. I’m already spending much more time on medication switches due to unavailability. That’s time I’m not seeing patients.

Have just been told by my mother that she has twice asked about possible shortages at her surgery (in Churchdown) that it is all ‘scaremongering’! Wow, is that what dr’s receptionists are being told to say?!

Yes! I believe the official government advice to GPs was to lie to patients about what's coming. Typically can't find the link now...

Not Project Fear at all. A GP told me a few days ago the practice workload was up 10% dealing with pharmacists unable to fulfil patient prescriptions.

It's only fair to note that the current shortages are not actually Brexit related. But they do show that supply is already precarious, and a no deal Brexit will inevitably impact heavily on that. The idea of politicians being allowed to overrule GP's prescriptions is terrifying.

There's only a limited amount of medicines made worldwide...a significant amount of most reliable quality total meds is made in EU & UK, using chemicals manufactured in UK & EU... Brexit *will* disrupt supply of *all* that. *Of Course* countries will *all* stockpile critical meds

I don’t understand how we can stockpile prescription meds. We can only order ours when they are due, so there’s no chance to do that. I thought most prescriptions can only be ordered when they are due, which is a good thing it’s dangerous to stockpile meds at any time

Radiotherapy & isotopes used in diagnostics is another area of significant concern if #NoDeal happens. Some investigations & some cancer treatments will be limited / unavailable.https://juniordoctorblog.com/2018/08/23/brexit-and-the-nhs-just-the-facts-part-2-going-nuclear/ …
