    Each year we run an image competition for local primary schools. We lend them a digital microscope & ask the children (9-11 yr olds) to find interesting specimens & image them. Here are some of our favourites from this year.

    This evening marked the transition of Rob Kay to emeritus scientist, and Ben Nichols deciding to move on to new adventures. Very grateful to both for all the sound advice and good humour over the years.

    Great fun last night at the inaugural Bullock, Carter, Derivery labs' bowling event. Mark (who learned bowling at school!) walked away with the title.

    We give schools a scope for two weeks and encourage the children to find interesting samples for imaging. Here are some of the other great entries this year: snake skin, mayfly and hornet.
