Teary-eyed & overwhelmed to hold a physical copy of my book—10 years in the making—for the first time. Fam, friends, colleagues, —thank you. Special thanks to , , , & Beryl Satter for thorough and generous reads. I‘m humbled.

Since we’re talking about prisons, seems like a good day to bring up the fact that the commonly cited number of 2.2 million ppl incarcerated doesn’t capture the totality & reach of the system. It’s more revealing to say that 10 million people cycle in & out of jail every year.

Man who joins his party in refusing to admit that violent white supremacist terrorism is a significant threat to the nation would now like to opine on the hazards of a single violent white supremacist terrorist voting.

Most importantly, though, thank you, again, to everyone who touched this project or touched my life during the decade that I worked on it. These things take villages. I’m blessed with a great one.
