It should be noted that the Cyberpunk developers are *not* in crunch. They have crunched, but since their release keeps getting pushed back they are now in a state known in the industry as a Death March. Here's a quick explanation from a 2004 Gama article:pic.twitter.com/0VxU4oxY2A

I've done a death march or two. The worst bit about them is 50% of the games that hit one are never released. All the work goes in the bin.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Glr71X-cr84 …

Am I mistaken in that this is the first time they've pushed the release date?

It is the first time... and now I'm seeing people acting like it's been a recurring theme for a number of years with the game, and they're acting like CDPR are Satan's spawn or something.

so that's why the hardest difficulty level in the Witcher 3 is called Death March

One of the great things about The Witcher is the dev/gamer humour. I sure hope Cyberpunk makes it.

The first external release date yes. However internally it's not been great to put it politely. They've even had to make public statements about it due to people in the industry talking about it and ex and current employees posting publicly.

Which is why I didn't link it. 😂 The definition of Death March is correct though.
