"Reinventing UDP Streaming with QUIC" my talk from Demuxed 2019 is now up on YouTube. The talk covers basic principles of IETF QUIC, explores adapting it for video-technology needs, and introduces protocol extensions that might open new possibilities.

And... the first non-trivial PR just got merged! This adds a prototype of server-driven priority header to the H2O HTTP server. Thanks for your persistent mentoring!

This is how a CVE-2020-0601 exploit looks like in future versions: a Certificate with an EC public key and "explicitly specified curve parameters". See

I'm doing a presentation on HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 resource prioritization on Saturday and I'm having some trouble fixing the scope of the talk... Please tell me what aspects you think I should definitely include. Talk will be on YouTube, so worth your effort ;)

My co-worker Hubert Kario made me aware of an easter-egg in HTTP/3 draft: an experimental implementation based on draft-ietf-quic-http-09 which reserves an extra stream for unsolicited transmission of 1980s pop music might identify itself as "h3-09-rickroll"

I’m in ’s session on archiving our work since we began in 2008. Kicked off by last year’s twitter discussion on archiving ’s photos. This seems like a good way to remember him; I’d like to think he’d be proud that this is his legacy.

Today's investigation: why are we receiving 52k requests per second on from 3 ISPs in the world? Answer: because has hardcoded this API into their residential router firmware. Thanks for helping identify the culprit!

Super happy to have been appointed as 3rd chair of the IETF QUIC Working Group today. I've worked with various shapes of QUIC since 2015. Seeing it progress in the IETF, from the BoF(s) to Internet-scale running code, has been amazing. I'm excited to see what the future holds.

One of the really nice things about running a meetup is seeing first time speakers, who are a bundle of nerves at the start of the evening, deliver a great talk and then by the end of the night are already looking forward to doing it another talk
