We filmed this during yesterday's historic protest in Hong Kong and stayed up all night editing it. YouTube demonetized it, which limits who sees it. Not sure what @TeamYouTube has against our videos about the HK protests, but they've all been demonetized.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLktzP3hleo …
Mind if I ask what/how they demonetize your posts? I am an oldish ex-journo who rarely looks at YouTube so be patient, but it’s a genuine question. I thought getting money out of posts on YouTube was purely a function of markets (views) so how can posts be de-marketised?

You don’t make money from views on a video that doesn’t get ads. YouTube sells ad space on your videos to advertisers, and they give you a cut of that. If your videos are “controversial” as judged by the YouTube algorithm, they won’t put ads on them.

Ah, so that’s how it works? A sort of technology tyranny. But of course people make decisions about the shape of the algorithm and the decision trees. Sorry to hear.
