(1/4) Thanks again for taking the time to share all of this information with us. We take allegations of harassment very seriously–we know this is important and impacts a lot of people.

(2/4) Our teams spent the last few days conducting an in-depth review of the videos flagged to us, and while we found language that was clearly hurtful, the videos as posted don’t violate our policies. We’ve included more info below to explain this decision:

It's amazing how much people get triggered by free speech. You need to grow thick skin. It doesn't matter WHO you are, there's going to be someone out there that doesn't like you. It doesn't matter if you did anything or not, it is never going to go away. this SJW stuff is insane

Free speech means you can't go to jail for what you say. It doesn't mean that what you say has no social consequences, my dear, uneducated, naive friend.

Honest question... at what point does society need to ban/ punish the offender/offenders?? It the end goal an offense free utopia? Not tryna argue here.

It's not about society, it's about community. Community can ban people, who are hurtful, because these people go against the community by spreading hate or hurting others. And what is considered hurtful is very easy to determine, if you have working a working empathy.

I’d imagine different people find different things hurtful. A deeply religious person might be offended if you didn’t agree with their homophobia. “Banning” from a community seems like an ill considered move. The best disinfectant being sunlight and all that.

Yeah, but there is a huge difference. When you don't conform to someone else's religious rules, you are not offending them. When you are homophobic, you do hurt someone by excluding them based on something they can't control (science my friend).

Of course LGBTQ people are people. You don’t need to reaffirm that here. That’s a given. I personally wouldn’t use homophobic language or encourage it. Things get a little squirrelly however when we want communities, corporations, societies

to intervene wholesale in how we communicate. You need to see and hear the bigots lest they all run toward each other crying about their own oppression.

I agree, but at the same time there is really no common ground. The ideal option would be to educate. But when the other side is against knowledge, the only option is to do two things: 1) Defend yourself and others from aggression. 2) Normalize what bigots think is not normal.
