    - Thread. The latest Labour antisemitism revelation from last night is gobsmacking. The chair of the party’s panel which investigates antisemitism *sided with a holocaust denier*. Some thoughts:

I raised this same horrific antisemitism with back in November! He ignored it. Now he calls it “smears” & defends his racist mate: “he is opposed to racism...” should a Lab MP be reporting a racist or retweeting him approvingly?

Sobering reminder of battle faced by antiracists, when tackling antisemitism. When you fight anti-black/anti-Gypsy racism, it's the far-right who attack you. Fight antisemitism? It's the far-left who attack you. 's :

“Christine Shawcroft quits Labour NEC” 👏👏👏 A step in the right direction, though it shouldn’t have been left to her decision:

If you challenge anti-Muslim hate, let's also challenge other forms of hatred that affect lives and communities.

  10. Completely unacceptable from - please delete and apologise now. Some of the best allies we have in the struggle against antisemitism are Muslims, , and more. This is not the way to challenge antisemitism.

On a more positive note, this week saw some incredible anti-racist allies taking the lead. Thank you, in particular

    Replying to and

(2/2) -You insert yourself into a conversation about antisemitism between two Jews -You mansplain to one Jew that the other Jew says he is antisemitic, -When BOTH JEWS reject this, you link it back to the "false claims of antisemitism", victim blaming shit that you love so much.

There’s even more to this emerging now. Members of Alan Bull’s local Labour Party made multiple complaints about him, they were ignored, then branded “far right”, then investigated for “bullying”.

This is going to require a cultural shift, not just better enforcement. Forgive me if I’m sceptical whether Corbyn is the leader who can deliver that.

The default position among the Labour left, who now form the majority of the party, is that Jews are devious, privileged, conspirators, not a minority deserving of a liberation campaign, like any other BAME group.

And all the way up to Jeremy Corbyn who remarkably “didn’t know” Raed Salah was a blood libel fanatic, “didn’t see” the antisemitic mural he defended, and now can’t bring himself to distance himself from his Jew-baiting friends in the party.

Make no mistake, this is not just about individual incidents like Shawcroft and her holocaust denier. This is about a culture of victim blaming and racism-denial which is now endemic at every level of the Labour left.
