This happens a lot. In my translation class we talked about an Ikea catalogue where they had erased every woman.

Why do they take out the women?

They do it to advertise themselves in countries with an Islamic majority. Because of some religious groups that are very restrict.

Exactly, the religious conservatives got butthurt once over women showing their faces in a graduation ceremony because it's "immodest".

I know it is pointless to say this, but this makes me feel so sad and frustrated because I can't think of a solution that would truly work.

Their generation will die out eventually, things are improving but it'll take time for sure.

We keep thinking that the racists will die off in America too...unfortunately they don't, they raise another generations of them.
