Crazy 🤯
I love how people on here believe that there's no demand for high-speed rail in this country as if we've ever built a bridge because we saw people swimming across a river.
3. Lack of mentorship is what is killing employee retention - the advent of tech-everything has caused humans to forget how to lean into being human.
3.2 This human edge will make a comeback in the coming century.
2. Companies don't know what to put in their ESG/Sustainability JDs (can confirm as a recruiter) - we need to develop clear language around this to eliminate confusion.
2.2 There will eventually be specialization in the sustainability space greater than there is currently.
1. When you are seeking to start your own climate tech startup, have a lot of conversations before jumping off the cliff - it will help with your discovery process if you don't already have a clear idea.
Had a great convo on the podcast today with Joe Bushnell who is helping corporates train their talent to be sustainability-aligned, bc how can you become a sustainable company if every person doesn't even know what it means.
Some of the takeaways / convo points: (thread 👇)
so amazing that
- the universe gave us an infinite energy glitch
- the US decided to use it to power giant underwater Gods (Ohio class submarine), enough to power it straight for 30 years
- then entire society collectively chose not to use this energy source for anything else
The smartest real estate person I’ve ever known isn’t educated.
He grew up in poverty, can barely type an email, can’t review leases, and is a bit socially awkward.
His net worth is easily $50M, and he’s an under-50 grandfather with 5 kids.
He just has it.
Twitter - Rich people should help others with their money
Me - Okay, I’ll use my money to help people and I promise to give away all my money before I die. Every single penny.

Mr Beast helped a 1000 blind ppl
And may profit from it
Wouldn't this mean he (and others inspired by him) could also do good using a similar model?
The idea that doing good can't be a profitable endeavor seems like a corrosive and shortsighted idea
What am I getting wrong?
IMO: If you are a recent grad or entry level worker...
You should NOT be looking for remote work.
Find an on-site job, work alongside someone, hear the conversations in office.
I don't have any facts, but I strongly believe you'll learn more this way.
In the rowdiness of this week, thank you for all the kind words, encouragement and perspective. Something much larger is happening in the zeitgeist as humanity begins to reconcile that a new era is here. It may feel scary at first, and then exhilarating that this is our moment ❤️
Just watched John Wick. Pretty cool movie, but tbh, it’s a very lame plot. A guy is on his last thread of life and some idiot takes it. Then he goes and kicks the shit out of Russians for 1.5 hours of screen time. Are all the John Wick movies like this? Debating continuing…
europeans love to talk about how the average american doesn’t know or care where switzerland is, or even if it’s a different thing than sweden, as if dwelling on the issue isn’t actually a massive self-own
In 2019, there were 18,142 flights and 2,836,474 passengers that flew between Atlanta and Orlando (400 miles). If a French TGV train connected both cities, it would take about 3 hours. If the train ran hourly, it would have the capacity to move 8.5 million ppl a year (300% more).
Protests are good. Violent protests are not good.
I'm always nervous abt protests bc tensions are high and ppl can easily be whipped into a frenzy - doing things they would never do 99.9999% of the time.
