        My #Tlingit grandmother was a victim of our government, in which she had no choice in learning her parents’ language or religion. At last, Native women have a long-overdue place at the table and will make a difference.

        As much as I want the US to prosper, it still is a very sour and heavy thing because it WAS built on the bones of Natives. Since they can’t move an entire country, they should spend all of their lives making things right for Native folk, not marginalize them

        The settlers (cough cough: conquerers) came and met their ancestors here. We should've had Native people and indigenous folks in our government a minute ago. Their languages should've been taught alongside other languages. Their history should've been included. It's time enough.
