When I was in high school, our band and choir programs had us sell candy bars as a band booster activity all the time. Selling candy and cookies was literally the most normal thing for kids to do when I was a teen.

My middle schoolers still sell candy to raise money for extra curricular programs, which have generally been underfunded. It's sad that kids are forced to sell items to raise money for activities, and sadder that they face harassment for doing so.

A 12 year old African-American boy was mowing lawns in Ohio recently and a neighbor of the boy’s customer called the cops. The boy had inadvertently mowed a portion of the neighbor’s yard without permission.
