I’ve learned so much the dialogue around who should be at the table/who shouldn’t. I don’t know who she is..but, What I do know—we must start centering storytellers and lived experiences of those who live the life. Part of privilege is knowing when to step aside.

It’s really gross that we continue to perpetuate the BS that members of the LGBTQIA+ community must “reveal” or “come out” or “announce”. Stop that.

She was defending AGT against Gabrielle Union’s account of her experiences of racism. How would you as a white woman know of the experiences a Black woman is speaking of? That’s why you were called “white” because a fact was being stated. Then you took offence.

It is upsetting to a lot of white people to be referred to as “white” because they’re used to just being referred to as “people” it is everybody else who gets the prefix that others their personhood. white privilege is moving through a racialised world in an unracialised body.

That’s why everyone must do what works for them. I’m learning to listen to my body so I know when it needs sustenance. Also, never been huge on meat, so not a biggie for me. Occasionally, I may want chicken or a steak or bunless burger (hence the 10% allowance)

Black people get to the top and almost instantly become like white people. Gatekeepers in EVERY industry. Why ninje? A little bit of power and it all goes to your heads.

Once arrived at an event and they barred my way & were nasty with it. 'D'you have a ticket?' 'No, I don't. I'm-' 'Then you'll have to leave. It's sold out. You can't come in.' 'If I leave then so does everyone else as they've all paid to hear me speak.' Red faces all round. 🙃

And this is the #1 reason for wage disparities because employers want you to feel like it’s “tacky” to talk about how much you make.

Today, let’s acknowledge the ones that are invalidated by incompetent managers or owners of companies simply because they stand up for what is right and constitutional in the work place. The ones that don’t keep quiet in the face of workplace injustice without needing a union.
