As someone who studied lynching for years and wrote a book about it, I remain astonished & offended at the willingness of ppl to describe any form of non-violent public vilification as a “lynching.” It’s lazy and manipulative. And an insult to real lynching victims.

It’s truly astonishing. “Witch hunt” too, often used by powerful men to describe attempts (usually by women) to hold them accountable. With zero sense of irony, they cast the women as witches and themselves as prey.
