Thorin hits so much of what's been missing in the community since the "first wave" of content creators moved upwards. I want to see more investigative journalists & content creators in the scene. Grind, dig, give opinions, work on marketing yourself!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sy_tEhiqmqA …

Unfortunately investigative journalism is hard to get into and not the easiest to do with no background or prior training. While I wish there was more of it in the scene, it's understandable why it's lacking from the scene.

As with any other kind of journalism, it's all about learning via doing. Harsha and I had no prior experience and broke a number of key roster moves, shuffles, insider stuff etc. We studied the ethics and processes, made relationships w/ players, and grafted. It's not that hard.

I'm not saying it's not impossible, but it's very daunting to say "yeah, just make connections with pros." I think there is a gap in understanding. When you first started, the scene was very fresh and new and the access level to players was much lower. It's a bit harder.

This isn't to say that I think it's impossible. I just think a better suggestion is to tell people how. Help be a bridge between people wanting to get started and the pro scene. I've been doing this esport thing for a little bit and the common question I get involves "how"

Sure, I agree. I had a conversation 2 days ago with a journalist at a bar trying to explain how I began doing journalism and how to build those relationships. Common worry is upsetting the apple-cart, but most people MASSIVELY overestimate how butthurt people will be about leaks
