I don’t want to harp on about Outlaws Tracer issues but -- in light of this counter-argument from flame -- I worked with Ben to provide some more context and really nail down what the Watchpoint team were going for when highlighting Jake and clockwork’s subpar stats. 1/7 (lol)https://twitter.com/flameIRL/status/973419813178564608 …

To contextual above stats further, this ranking includes undead and Diya who both played over 25min on Assault in Stage 2. Obviously both at bottom for most stats. Clockwork is not doing well, if you couldn’t tell by his 5 kills in 2 Assault maps against LAV & NYXL 3/7

cw’s style seems to be a safe frontline Tracer who mainly helps deal w/ tanks but has recently focused healers too. 43% of all kills are on tanks (has high Pulse Bomb hitrate compared to kills indicating tank sticks) but vs FLA & GLA he killed more healers than tanks and DPS. 4/7

Specific argument above--being an Assault-only Tracer is reason for cw’s poor stats--doesn't hold weight. In theory he plays a style that should get more damage BUT also doesn’t commit unless HOU is in position. This can get vetoed early in fights & hurt safe Tracers' stats. 5/7

Outlaws' Tracers aren't central to the strategy. HOU seem to subconsciously recognise that they've not got star Tracers & build the team for them to be role players. cw does safe frontline poke w/ the team; Jake was formerly counterdiving, following up damage to ensure picks 6/7

Their Tracers’ lack of star ability means this style can be exploited hard by putting them in awkward positions, but Outlaws CAN win without ace Tracers - unusual in this meta. They would almost certainly win more with better Tracers, and could play a larger range of styles. 7/7

Context matters. It's not just 2cp but what cp maps were played. It matters how the team performed and their strategies on each of these maps. Finally, the fact that he plays from the bench, really matters. It's like comparing a bench player on the lakers to Kobe. It's complex.pic.twitter.com/9nCYtvYam8

How good you are at sticking them. If you stick a lot but still don't get kills, chances are that means you're sticking tanks, and it just does damage rather than a kill.
