Is now a good time to mention that I quite liked the Mercy meta?

at pro level I agree, but ranked level—where majority of players are coming from—mercy was just anti-carry/momentum killing pest mercy is necessary for the meta for the reasons you describe, i think they’ll have to tune back up, but patch was necessary to put out the ranked fire
Agreed, and even when discussing pro play there were many detriments that made it harder to watch, harder to see the teamfight advantages, etc. My comments are almost entirely focused around the strategy involved, which I think was cool and remained 'unsolved'.

i hated the first mercy meta until i missed the hell out of it during quad tank ana meta, that’s when I 1st realized mercy is needed for the meta health obviously blizz won’t murder a hero, so I welcome the patch while they brainstorm how to correctly implement, ranked needed it
