I think the requirement of constant meta changes is a product of our society. When was the last time someone asked for a new piece in chess?

In TF2, we tried to preserve fixed meta as the base game was so enjoyable (in the comp format). I do not relate to OW cmmunity issues at all

I've enjoyed the evolution of this meta. But I think once given a glimpse of viable comps people will want to return and have them battle.

Not "as much" but it's definitely visible, team styles in dive and individual ability giving flavour. But there were loads of comps earlier

We had tanks, rein zen, genji tracer dive, s76 poke, trip dps, trip support, sombra, widow counter, pharmercy. This meta was mostly diverse!
