I think the requirement of constant meta changes is a product of our society. When was the last time someone asked for a new piece in chess?
In TF2, we tried to preserve fixed meta as the base game was so enjoyable (in the comp format). I do not relate to OW cmmunity issues at all

I've enjoyed the evolution of this meta. But I think once given a glimpse of viable comps people will want to return and have them battle.

Would you say you can enjoy the different flavours of dive as much as if it was a different set of heroes? If so, I agree.
