2020 was weird. I was determined to make my time indoors meaningful this year, so I got a taste of the "sacrifice your social life for work" existence without losing anything. A thread on my life/career this year for anybody interested in my reflections:

Started with aspirations to balance homestand travel with making shoulder content for OWL; my biggest regret of the year is that I couldn't do this series justice due to COVID. I think it could have been a wonderful peek into caster life.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC8L0FPQ6Y4&list=PLs8PITS62wDYJBi-8E2XCzZgsBTYKK2I4 …

I also intended to do a lot of collaborative content with other casters (+kurt +wyatt). Instead, I couldn't hang out with them at all. Ended up doing solo OWL co-streams and First Strike co-streams mostly: live for over 1000hrs with 940K hours watched on my channel during 2020.

Speaking of First Strike, I made solid beginnings to becoming known as a VALORANT analyst with regular VOD review streams and video breakdowns, despite not working a live event. Made Diamond 3 (finished in Plat) and run a growing analytical podcast in a promising esport.

Plat Chat Overwatch, on the other hand, has grown vastly this year. We grew 200% in terms of subs and over 300% in views and watch time, clocking in at over 1.3M hours overall. We also partnered with T-Mobile, a huge move to legitimise and finance the project. Massive year.

I'm now moving to Austin, with some of the Plat Chat crew, along with my wonderful girlfriend who has been so incredibly supportive this year living together. She made lockdown more than liveable. Can't imagine I'd be in the same positive mental state w/ anybody else (or alone).

On the negative side of 2020, I utterly fucked up my fitness and further decreased my flexibility due to all of the hours statically working at my PC. 2021 is the year that I ask Bren to drag me to his garage gym (and I walk and stretch more).

Life was definitely unbalanced for me in 2020, but it was a good indicator of how hard I can push myself to produce side content, work multiple esports, maintain relationships, etc. I don't think I'll maintain this pace of productivity forever, but it's cool while it lasts.
