Finally caught up with Korean First Strike fully and Vision Strikers are looking even scarier than ever. They have more defensive trap plays, loads of plays for extremity control, they have hard anti-strats for their regional rivals, and ALSO good mid-round reactions. Scaaary.
aNg Darkhorse looked like the 2nd best team in the region tbh, but choked hard in the semis. TNL are also damn good though; but I think part of the reason Korea looks SO clean is that there's a ton of specific counter-stratting. Some amazing general protocols too though.
The only place where the Korean scene looks really weak is when running defaults. The players tend to make strange decisions when on their own, and they get caught out by unexpected plays a lot because they're always anticipating rigid, structured teamplay from their opponents.
Id be curious to see how effective the counter-stratting would be on an international level
I just loved seeing bunny with a bucky running in getting frags everywhere and zunba playing again. I know it was only a stream-meme-team but i still loved it and they were relatively close to beating vision strikers
It's a shame the talent pool in the region is so low, the few teams they have are fun to watch, but I honestly doubt we will ever see the region as a whole as an international threat, maybe VS should go the Renegades CS route and relocate to Europe or NA.
