Wasn't mandatory at my schools in Texas, but thank god I learned the different cuts of meats from a cow and pig

And a country’s economy could not be further from a ‘household budget’, yet the idea that a country should manage its finances as if it was a household is still taught. My goal is to make economics more accessible and practical at a HS level so that we have more informed adults.

My school teaches it as an elective, but the teacher who teaches it is one of the worst in the school so almost no one takes it.

I think this should be done in most countries as very few of my peers know anything about how macro economics or international trade works and it’s sad as it feels like generations of people have just bumbled along without learning important life skills or info

i had this in both middle school and high school and it was the most dead subject ever.. at least i picked up some things abt it already in middle school
